How to Write a Good Production Access Application

The Final Exam

The 14-day closed test is over. You click "Apply for Production," and you are greeted by a multi-question form. This form is the final exam standing between you and the Google Play Store.

If you give one-word answers, you will fail. Here is how to write a winning application.

Question 1: How did you collect feedback?

Bad Answer: "I asked my friends."

Good Answer: "We utilized a multi-channel approach. We set up a dedicated Discord server for real-time bug reporting, utilized the Google Play private feedback form, and sent a structured Google Form survey to all 12 testers on Day 7 to evaluate the onboarding UI."

Question 2: What feedback did you receive?

Bad Answer: "They said the app was good and had no bugs."

Good Answer: "Feedback was highly actionable. Three testers noted that the text contrast on the Settings page was too low in Dark Mode. Two testers on older devices experienced slight lag when loading the map API. Finally, users suggested moving the 'Save' button higher on the screen to avoid keyboard overlap."

Question 3: What changes did you make based on this feedback?

Bad Answer: "We made the app better."

Good Answer: "We acted on the feedback immediately. On Day 8 of the test, we pushed version 1.0.2 to the closed track. This update changed the Dark Mode text hex code from #333 to #FFF for better accessibility, and we wrapped the main form in a ScrollView to fix the keyboard overlap issue.
