How to Prepare Your Android App for Production Approval

The Final Review Checklist

Your 14-day closed testing period is almost over. Before you eagerly hit the "Apply for Production" button, you must realize that Google will perform a final, comprehensive manual review of your app.

If your store listing is incomplete or your app violates policy, you will be rejected, regardless of how well your 14-day test went.

1. Perfect the Store Listing

During the closed test, developers often use placeholder images and text. This must be fixed before applying for production.

• Screenshots: Upload at least 4 high-resolution, un-pixelated screenshots showcasing actual gameplay or app utility.
• Description: Ensure your description clearly explains what the app does without keyword stuffing.
• Feature Graphic: Upload a clean 1024x500 feature graphic.

2. Data Safety & Privacy

Google takes user privacy incredibly seriously. A massive percentage of rejections stem from Data Safety mismatches.

The Privacy Policy

Your app must have a valid URL linking to a privacy policy. The link cannot be a Google Doc or a dead end; it must be a publicly accessible web page.

SDK Compliance

If your app uses Firebase, AdMob, or Facebook SDKs, you must declare that your app collects network and device data in the Data Safety form.

3. Test Login Credentials

If your app requires a user to log in to access the main features, you must provide test credentials to the Google reviewer. Navigate to the App Content section in the Play Console and provide a dummy username and password. If the reviewer cannot log in, the app will be rejected.
